The global population is getting older. People are living longer now than at any time in our history due to better diet, more medical care and more affluent life styles.

Just because old age is more common it does not take away the problems associated with advanced years. Bodies wear out slowly but surely and we become more frail, less energetic and physically weaker.

Massage can be a wonderful aid to people in their formative years as it can aid muscle tone, the removal of metabolic waste products, assist circulation and aid relaxation. It can also be a way of providing personal care and company to those feeling alone.

The Association has been formed for schools, tutors and members who provide or have trained in specialist massage techniques specifically designed for the more mature person.

It aims to be a resource for those wishing to find training establishments and tutors able to extend the knowledge of therapists who may not have explored additional training in this field.
